Move-Out Packet

Terms of use

Last updated: October 25, 2026

These terms cover this website, the Move-Out Packet app, the tenant’s shared link, the free deadline calculator and the waitlist.Move-Out Packet is run by Victor, an independent software developer. By using any of them, you agree to these terms.

Not legal advice

Move-Out Packet is a documentation tool. It is not a law firm, and nothing on this site is legal advice. The summaries of California law here are short and general, and some exceptions apply. Read California Civil Code §1950.5 yourself, and ask a licensed California attorney or your landlord association about your own situation. You decide what to deduct from a deposit and are responsible for following the law.

Using the app

The deadline calculator

The calculator adds 21 calendar days to the date you enter. It is provided free and “as is”, without any promise that it fits your situation. Check the date yourself before you rely on it.

The waitlist and prices

Joining the waitlist is free and does not commit you to buy. The app is in a free beta; the prices shown are what we plan and may change before paid plans start, and we will tell you before anything is charged. The founding price applies to the first people on the waitlist when it opens. Nothing is charged until you choose to buy.

Limits on our liability

The app and the site are provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect loss, or for any loss from a missed deadline, a deposit dispute or a deduction you chose to make, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it, or $50, whichever is more.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Questions: hello@moveoutpacket.com.
