Privacy policy

Move-Out Packet is run by Victor, an independent software developer. This policy explains what we collect on this website, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Questions: hello@moveoutpacket.com.
What we collect
- Waitlist form: your email address, how many rental units you have, when your next move-out is (if you say), and whether you would pay the founding price.
- The app (landlords): your email address (to sign you in), the rentals you add (address, unit, tenant names, dates, deposit), the photos, notes, charges and receipts you upload, the name you sign with, and when each photo reached us. When the app shrinks a photo before uploading it, the photo’s hidden location data is removed.
- The app (tenants): if your landlord sends you a private link, you can view what they shared and sign the move-in report. We keep the name and comment you sign with and the time you signed. You don’t need an account.
- Sign-in cookie: one cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It is needed for the app to work; we use no other cookies.
- Deadline calculator: nothing. The date you enter is worked out in your own browser and never sent to us.
- Technical data: our host, Cloudflare, processes basic request data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver and protect the site. If we turn on Cloudflare Web Analytics, it counts visits without cookies.
We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
How we use it
- To run the app: store your rentals, build your PDFs, and show your tenant what you share with them.
- To email you sign-in links and reminders before the 21-day deadline.
- To email waitlist members when Move-Out Packet opens, and to send the founding price.
- To decide what to build first, using the totals (for example, how many people have a move-out in the next 30 days).
We will not sell or rent your information, and we will not share it for other companies’ marketing.
Who processes it for us
- Cloudflare hosts the website and the app, and stores the app’s data and files (encrypted at rest).
- Resend delivers sign-in links, reminders and waitlist forms by email.
- Google (Gmail) stores our inbox, where waitlist sign-ups arrive.
Who can see the app’s data
You, when signed in. Your tenant, only through the private link you choose to send them; you can replace the link at any time and the old one stops working. We look at your data only if you ask us for help or the law requires it.
How long we keep it
App data stays until you delete it. Deleting a rental, or your whole account (from “Your rentals”), removes its photos, receipts and details straight away; copies in our host’s backups are gone within 30 days. A tenant who wants something removed can write to us, and we will work it out with the landlord.
We keep waitlist details until Move-Out Packet opens and you decide whether to sign up. If it never opens, we delete the list within 12 months. You can ask us to delete your details at any time.
Your choices
- Every email we send has a way to unsubscribe, and we honour it.
- Email hello@moveoutpacket.com to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. We reply within 30 days.
Do Not Track
We do not track you across other websites, so we treat every visitor the same whether or not their browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
Children
This site is for landlords and their tenants. It is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is important, we will also email the people it affects.
